Unlike many other religious people, I don’t think the argument for the existence of G-d is ironclad. Indeed, I think it is essential that we are able to deny a divine presence in this world: if the data was so overwhelming that we had no choice in the matter, then mankind would be deprived of Free Will.
And it is even more clear to me that G-d desires us to make choices freely. He would rather hide His presence than create a situation where mankind loses free will because we can no longer refuse to accept our Creator.
The problem I see is that we Jews have been seeing G-d’s presence more openly now than any other time in history. We see Him in all the miracles in Israel right now – and countless others since October 7. The missiles that misfire or are intercepted or somehow find targets that do not take life… all the “coincidences” that fill the world right now. The mere fact that we are bombing Persia on the day that we talk about the Jewish people surviving … in Persia. It adds up to such a comprehensive argument for the existence of G-d and His involvement in our lives (both at the individual level and up through the national level), that we are, frankly, gobsmacked with awe.
Wow.
Which brings us to the obvious question: Why are we seeing such open miracles, miracles that have probably not been this open since biblical times? Doesn’t that endanger free will?
And here is where we must show our appreciation for the Tucker Carlsons and Candace Owens and AOCs of the world – not to mention the Ilhan Omars and Keir Starmer and every single liberal who looks at this war and, without a second thought, knows that America and Israel do not have divine support.
Because the stupid and evil people are so very stupid and evil, it means that G-d can be more open than ever before, without endangering free will! Because they do not accept that G-d exists and is on the side of Life. And they never will accept it, no matter what miracles occur.
Because of their stupidity, I get to see and appreciate all the open miracles in my life, and the lives of my family, community, people, and nation. Thank you, morons!
It is all a Purim story: nothing is quite as it seems.

I think the irony is that some people don’t appreciate the deepest of connections between the persian people and israel. The same country that is being bombed is also eternally beloved. Without cyrus the great, there is no israel. Without israel emancipating the persian people, iran may not exist. Hopefully, there will be freedom in iran and israel will assist with their water crisis. This is a scripturally based payback to the persian people.
